Janyna M. Mercado, Ph.D
Neuropsychologist
Dr. Mercado is a bilingual Neuropsychologist who takes pride in serving the greater Alamo City. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology form Southern Methodist University in 1992; she went on to earn her PhD in Counseling Psychology from Texas Women’s University, where she graduated with honors in 2004. Upon completing her internship with Brooke Army Medical Center, she completed her Neuropsychology Fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center/Audie L Murphy VA Hospital in 2005.
Currently, Dr. Mercado serves our military personnel at Brookes Army Medical Center as a clinical neuropsychologist and faculty member. A proud member of the National Academy of Neuropsychology, Dr. Mercado also currently holds a position on the Women in Leadership committee, and is affiliated with the National Academy of Neuropsychology. Beyond the clinical angle, Dr. Mercado imparts her academic expertise as an Associate Professor at Trinity University. Dr. Mercado also presents at numerous national conferences and assists in the advancement of cutting edge patient centered care treatment plans. With a formidable background in neuropsychological disorders, Dr. Mercado is recognized as a highly respected forensic consultant and a sought after expert witness.
Dr. Mercado also currently holds a position on the Women in Leadership committee, and is affiliated with the National Academy of Neuropsychology.
