Dr. Brandi Buchanan is a board-certified Psychologist and Master of Divinity who specializes in Neuropsychology.
With an extensive background working with patients living with traumatic brain injuries (TBI) and the cognitive deficits that often accompany them, Dr. Buchanan is uniquely familiar with the myriad ways injuries to the brain and the nervous system affect not only a patient’s health and quality of life, but their behaviors, understanding, and awareness of what’s happening around them.
Her highly specialized experience working alongside physicians, nursing staff, and therapists provides valuable insight into the physical, cognitive, psychological, and social changes associated with a patient’s traumatic brain injury and how this affects the approach and success of their rehabilitation treatment plan.
Dr. Buchanan received her undergraduate degree in Behavioral Studies from East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, TX, and her Master’s of Divinity in Theology from George W. Truett Theological Seminary at Baylor University in Waco, TX. She went on to receive her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Walden University in Minneapolis, MN.
After completing predoctoral internships and a postdoctoral fellowship in private practices throughout the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex, she began her own practice as a clinical neuropsychologist specializing in traumatic brain injury cases. As the Owner and Lead Clinical Neuropsychologist of Dallas Neuropsychology, she routinely conducts neuropsychological evaluations for children-to-geriatric populations suffering from traumatic brain injury and memory decline/dementia.
She also has privileges at Hunt Regional Medical Center in Greenville to consult with all of the hospital’s inpatient rehab patients, as well as many others in the ICU, neonatal unit, behavioral health wing and telemedicine wings. In addition, she is contracted by Exam Works and Cognet Rehab Solutions, both large networks of doctors and rehabilitation specialists who focus on TBI patients experiencing a wide range of deficits, to review independent medical examinations, and consult on, and testify for, worker’s comp, disability, personal injury, car accident, and slip-and-fall cases.
